Accredited verification of measurement systems

Accurate measurement of electricity consumption is essential for electricity network operators to be able to monitor the load on the network and bill customers based on measured values. OneCo is accredited by Swedac to inspect electricity meters in operation in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17020:2012 standard. The accreditation covers the inspection of electricity metering systems in power categories 2–5.

When we carry out an inspection of an electricity metering system, we examine the entire metering system, including current and voltage transformers, metering cables, test terminals and electricity meters. Once we have completed the inspection, we issue an inspection report to the electricity network operator.

An accredited inspection involves an independent body verifying the accuracy of the measurement and ensuring that the installation meets the relevant requirements.
This check can help you, as an electricity network owner, to:
  • Monitor the load on the electricity grid.
  • Ensure that billing is based on accurate meter readings.
  • Verify that metering installations comply with the applicable requirements.
At OneCo, we carry out inspections of electricity metering systems throughout Sweden and work with both large and small electricity network operators. We can also carry out any work identified during an inspection, such as replacing components, carrying out modifications and documenting metering installations.
