OneCo is increasing the proportion of electric cars in its fleet

Over the past year, OneCo has put more than 80 electric cars into service in Sweden. This means that around 27 per cent of our company cars are now electric.

In the field of electric vehicle charging, OneCo is working on the installation of charging stations in various parts of the country, both for external customers and to provide charging facilities for its own staff. Since the start of 2023, several technicians have been using electric vehicles in their day-to-day work.

- "I was hesitant at first and wondered how it would actually work because I drive long distances every day. But it works well to use an electric car as a company car after a running-in period," says Joakim Lind, who drives an average of 30 kilometres a day in his job as a technician at OneCo.

Targets for the vehicle fleet

OneCo’s target is for 30 per cent of the Group’s company cars to be electric. In Sweden, we currently stand at around 27 per cent.

Stefan Hansson, who works as a technician in Stockholm, drives an electric car privately. He was therefore in favour of also driving an electric car for work.

– It works perfectly for me, but you need to think about what you need for your work and find an electric car that meets those requirements. We can drive electric cars if we have the right type of vehicle and the right conditions, he says.

Conditions for electric cars in the fleet

Access to charging is a crucial factor in the use of electric vehicles for business purposes. Starting the working day with a fully charged battery reduces the need for charging stops during the day. The expansion of charging infrastructure, both public and domestic, affects the feasibility of using electric vehicles for business purposes.

- It's like driving a normal car. It has a slightly shorter range, but if you start with the electric car fully fuelled in the morning, you get a good distance. I definitely think that more people should try to use electric cars for work," says Stefan Hansson, who has been driving an electric car for over a year.

Further work

OneCo continues to assess the use of electric cars in its operations, including how they affect operations, costs and energy consumption.
