OneCo expands energy storage capacity in Sweden

OneCo has signed a framework agreement with an energy storage company for the expansion of energy storage in Sweden for 2024. The first battery park was started in January.

OneCo is building battery installations for energy storage in several locations in Sweden. Each plant has a capacity of up to 20 MW.

Under a multi-year contract, OneCo is responsible for land preparation, installation and commissioning. The battery supplier provides the energy storage systems.

The facilities are connected to Svenska kraftnät and can be used to provide ancillary services, such as frequency regulation. This helps to maintain the balance between electricity production and electricity consumption in the system.

Battery storage allows electricity to be stored at times of production and used at later times of need, which is particularly relevant during fluctuations in electricity production.
